Current Restoration Efforts
Our crews are actively working in multiple areas to restore power to affected members:
🔹 North of Harlan – Crews are on-site restoring power in Defiance and Westphalia. Significant progress is being made, and we will continue working until all members in this area are reconnected.
🔹 Earling & Fiscus Substations – Restoration efforts are focused on backfeeding power to help restore service to members in Manning, Irwin, and Manilla. This process is critical in getting power restored as efficiently as possible.
🔹 West of Shelby – A crew is en route to this area to begin restoration efforts. We will provide further updates as work progresses.
🔹 Brayton Area – Another crew is on the way to begin power restoration in this region. We anticipate making steady progress throughout the day.
🔹 West of Harlan (Panama & Portsmouth Areas) – Crews are actively working in these communities to restore power to affected members. We recognize the impact this outage has had on residents and businesses in this area, and we are prioritizing efforts to get service back online as soon as possible.
Next Steps
Once NIPCO completes repairs on their transmission lines, we will be able to finalize the restoration process for our members. We are closely coordinating with NIPCO to expedite this process and will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work around the clock to restore power to all affected areas. Thank you for your support!
Due to hazardous weather conditions, including impassable roads caused by heavy snow and high winds, Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO) and our NVREC crews have been temporarily pulled from outage restoration efforts today. The safety of our crews is our top priority, and with road conditions preventing safe travel, we are unable to respond to outages at this time. Crews will resume work as soon as conditions allow, which we anticipate could be tomorrow morning, depending on road access.

Reporting an Outage
If you experience a power outage, please continue to report it by calling our after-hours outage line at 712-755-2166 or 800-234-5122. While crews are not currently dispatched, reporting outages allows our dispatch team to log and track new incidents overnight. This information is essential for prioritizing restoration efforts as soon as it is safe for crews to return to the field.

Emergency Situations: Downed Power Lines & Broken Poles
Safety remains our highest concern. If you see a downed power line or a broken pole, do not approach it, as these situations can be extremely dangerous. In the event of such a hazard, please contact our call center immediately so we can assess and address the situation as soon as possible.
