Energy Trails Tour
Since the tours began back in 1988, several members of Nishnabotna Valley REC have tracked their electric power right to its source. Each summer members are offered the opportunity to participate in a three-day educational power supply tour sponsored by Nishnabotna Valley REC and NIPCO, the Cooperative’s power supplier.
In addition to the tours the members get a brief look at electric cooperative history and gain new understanding and pride in their ownership of the Cooperative. The tours are part of the Nishnabotna Valley REC’s commitment to provide education for directors, employees and member-owners. If you would like to participate, download an application and mail it in to the NVREC headquarters at PO Box 714, Harlan, IA 51537 to be a part of this experience. Applications are also published in the NewsLines newsletter each spring.
