Iowa’s electric cooperatives are once again sponsoring the annual “Momentum Is Building” conference February 9-10 at the Sheraton West Des Moines hotel; 2017 marks the 25th annual conference.
Momentum Is Building offers up-to-date building science information; practical hands-on details; and new technology displays for building trades professionals – including homebuilders, electricians and heating-plumbing contractors, realtors, bankers, and others involved in the construction/retrofitting industries. Rural electric cooperative personnel from across the state also attend.
Nationally recognized speakers will share their knowledge on topics including the keynote address by Peter Yost, Building Green, Inc., in Brattleboro, Vermont, on “How Do Green Building, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fit Together?” Other topics include mechanical and electric code updates, deep-energy retrofits, energy modeling, changing best practices, legal updates, and more.
Momentum Is Building also includes a trade show so attendees can visit with companies and find out about new products. Several sessions will offer CEUs, including up to six electrical CEUs and up to six CEUs in several HVAC discipline areas.
Support for the conference comes from Iowa’s rural electric cooperatives and the Iowa Energy Center.
