Microwave repair is NO do-it-yourself job!

Fixing a microwave oven is no job for a do-it-yourselfer. The Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that four people die from electrocution each year while trying to repair microwave ovens. High voltages make it particularly dangerous for consumers to remove the cover and touch electrical parts.

In fact, your microwave can electrocute you even if it's unplugged, says the commission, which advises owners to call a professional repair technician to do the job.
